Always #LikeAGirl

“In my work as a documentarian, I have witnessed the confidence crisis among girls and the negative impact of stereotypes first-hand,” said Lauren Greenfield, filmmaker and director of the #LikeAGirl video. “When the words ‘like a girl’ are used to mean something bad, it is profoundly disempowering. I am proud to partner with Always to shed light on how this simple phrase can have a significant and long-lasting impact on girls and women. I am excited to be a part of the movement to redefine ‘like a girl’ into a positive affirmation.”

What a fantastic new campaign by Always and Lauren Greenfield. Lauren brings to light this topic in a wonderfully simple video that highlights the age and stereotype where girls start to lose their confidence.

Always is a brand that has been around for over 30 years, and their tag is “helping girls keep their confidence throughout puberty and beyond”. I couldn’t think of a more perfect campaign and video to help this message and continue the movement that Dove started years ago with Pantene, GoldieBlox, Nike, and United Nations Women having jumped on the bandwagon as well. GIRL POWER!
